We met for the first time in the early 2000s at a plenary committee of the CLP HU.
As a newly elected member, I was attending for the first time after old-timers like you, this committee which also included the staff of the EEAS.
Unhappy with how Delegation staff were being represented, we were bold and created USHU to which you brought all your influence and knowledge.
I learned a lot from old hands like you etc... Representing the staff at your side has been very enriching.
How can I not mention our many plenary meetings and joint committees at the Borschette and Schuman. Our meetings of the Central Personnel Committee (CCP) in Brussels, Petten, Mol, Luxembourg. The briefings and debriefings at the USHU office at Rue de la Loi 80. The lunches in the cafeterias of different Commission DGs. Dinners among comrades. I had the privilege to share so many moments with you Dim. I will miss all this conviviality and wisdom.

I will remember you as a helpful, respectful and attentive person, full of qualities, fully invested in your projects and missions. All the humility and respect for others.
The end of your professional life is the beginning of another life.
The time has come for you to turn the page.
I wish you a very good retirement full of surprises and moments of affection.

Adieu à Dimitrije Stankovic, un collègue et un ami
Cher Dimitrije,
On s’est rencontrés pour la première fois au début des années 2000 à un comité plénier de la du CLP HU.
Nouvellement élu, j’assistais pour la première fois après des anciens comme toi à ce comité qui comprenait également le personnel du SEAE.
Mécontents de la façon dont le personnel des délégations était représenté, nous avons fait preuve d'audace et créé l'USHU, à laquelle tu as apporté toute ton influence et connaissances. J’ai beaucoup appris des anciens comme toi… représenter le personnel à vos côtés a été très enrichissant.
Comment ne pas évoquer nos multiples réunions plénières et comités paritaires au Borschette, à Schuman. Nos réunions du Comité Central de Personnel (CCP) à Bruxelles, Petten, Mol, Luxembourg… Les briefings et débriefings au bureau de l’USHU à la Rue de la Loi 80. Les déjeuners aux cafétérias des divers bâtiments de la commission. Nos dîners entre camarades ……….. J’ai eu le privilège de partager tant de moments avec toi Dim. Toute cette convivialité me manquera.

Je me souviendrai de toi comme d'une personne serviable, respectueuse et attentive, pétri de qualités, pleinement investi dans ses projets et missions. Et tout cela dans l'humilité et le respect de l'autre.
La fin de vie professionnelle est le début d'une autre vie.
Le temps est venu pour toi de tourner la page.
Je te souhaite une très bonne retraite pleine de surprises et de moments d'affection.
